Here we go then. This is my first review on Rum Buccaneer, and it is my first ever Australian rum. When I started looking into this product I was somewhat surprised to learn that rum has been produced in Australia for about 150 years!

My tasting notes
Nose: Caramel, fudge, vanilla and a hint of funk. Ripe, tropical fruits. Deeply sweet, but in a tempered way.
Taste: Medium body. Rather dry. White pepper, bitter-ish notes of nuts and oak. Ginger, and a smidge aniseed.
Finish: Medium long finish. Vanilla. Towards the end a very earthy and vegetal note, like root vegetables straight out of the dirt.
Comment: Farmer’s delight.
